Rod Hilton over at The Editing Room, has written yet another hilarious satirical script of the recent movie Watchmen. He pwns the director, Zack Snyder, for his many ridiculous creative decisions which disgraced the original novel.

Watchmen, the most award-winningest graphic novel of all time has been translated into what looks to be an awesome movie. Early reviews say the movie is very faithful to the book, which is pretty evident just from what they show in the trailer.
I’m almost done with my second read of the book. The plot is pretty complicated, so if the movie follows the book I would guess the movie will be confusing to most people (so many flashbacks!). I’ve already got tickets to see Watchmen this weekend in IMAX, I hope it’s a good use of 2 hours and 43 minutes. At the very least the visual effects will look badass on a 65 foot screen.
So there is a town in Turkey, called Batman. Really! Actually it’s short for Batı Raman Mountains, but still that’s pretty cool. What’s not cool is the mayor of Batman is suing the director of the recent Batman movies, Christopher Nolan, for using the name Batman without his permission. He also blames the city’s increase in unsolved murders and female suicides on this identity infringement.
“There is only one Batman in the world,” Kalkan said. “The American producers used the name of our city without informing us.”
Hey shut up Mayor Kalkan, you make no sense. Batman has been serving Gotham city for 70 YEARS, why not take it up with DC Comics or creator Bob Kane. Oh that’s right, Batman is an abbreviation, not your city’s real name, your stupid, go home.

Cool effects, dangerous-looking stunts, fancy computer displays, Bond gone rouge, sharp-looking bad guys in suits, and of course hot chicks. I saw Bond driving a sports car, a helichopter, a motorcycle, and possibly a boat and plane too. Maybe he’ll partake in a car chase scene that lasts more than 30 seconds before he wrecks his car after doing nothing cool with his fancy bond car.
I few months ago I participated in an early screening for a trailer of My Best Friends Girl. I always appreciate opportunities to give consumer feedback. I told them it was a stupid looking comedy and I had no interest in seeing it. Specifically I told them the sound effect when Dane Cook trips at the beginning was inappropriate, it sounded like he was getting whacked with a tree limb. I don’t think they changed this, in fact I think they made it worse my adding a cliché scream that totally ruins the movie for me.
They did however implement some of my other feedback. When asked who was my favorite person in the movie I said Alec Baldwin (I know he’s not the greatest but he aces his 30 Rock character). My least favorite was Jason Biggs (the douche from American Pie). In the new TV spot I was pleased to see that Jason Biggs talks once at the end despite the fact that he is the main character in the movie. Also Alec Baldwin is introduced first and featured much more prominently than before, even though he appears to only play a small roll. You hear that America? I’m in your movie trailers, influencing your targeted marketing.
Anyway here is a video of the new TV spot that’s been airing for the movie’s release this month. The movie still looks like it completely sucks and if you happen to see it let me know how terrible it was.
