bertman returns

I am slowly winning back the counter space. SSSCAT is a cat behavior control device, consisting of a motion sensor and aerosol cat deterrent spray. Mitsy gets caught in the trap, taking a direct blast to her left ear. I love the tail as she scampers away.
I’m glad we finally got a good snow storm, because today the cats got to experience their first snow day! This was also the first time I used iMovie ‘09. It wasn’t able to reduce the wind noise like iMovie ‘06 can, but it integrates with my iPhone and Youtube effortlessly. I had to manually add the South Pole’s lat/lon to a text file for that map animation, which is otherwise completely automated. The precision editor is also helpful for lining up transitions:
What better song to play on Cat Piano than the Meow Mix theme song? You know, from those cat food commercials. Mitsy and Ajax heard the meowing and came to investigate and Mitsy adds some of her own meows.
Check out Mitsy’s halloween costume.
Ajax is the joker but his costume is too big.

Now all I need is some cat crime to fight and cat criminal underworld to dominate. You know what would be cool is if the cats actually liked to wear costumes, that way when they wrestled it would be classic Batman vs. Joker action.
My cats are so good at walking in the rain.
The cats were spooked by the approaching storm before we were able to detect it. We ended up huddling under a tree with two pissed off cats while we waited out a downpour. After that there were only a few sprinkles and we were able to continue our walk.
This morning we took the cats with us on a 2.5 hour voyage. First we picked up microwave nearby on craigslist. On our way to the park we saw balloons for Petsmart’s grand opening, and we needed food and litter anyway. Everyone was shocked and amazed to see two cats prancing around petsmart on leashes. It was a little overwhelming for them because the aisles were packed with dogs and clowns. We stocked up on free promotional cat toys and even got our picture taken in front of a backdrop. Ajax was excellent on his leash even though this is only his second trip.
After subjecting the cats to the linoleum hysteria, it was time for the cats to relax and enjoy nature at the park. Ajax started panting, which I thought was strange because Mitsy has much longer hair and a black coat and didn’t pant.

Somehow my iPhone managed to mangle this jpeg to hell. I've never experienced an issue with the camera app, so this is really strange.
The trip was a success. The cat’s didn’t get along very well before, but after this exciting trip they bonded and snuggled together in the car on the way home. Look at them sleeping together on the same bed.
