Bike DC

I participated in Bike DC yesterday. It is an annual event where roads are closed to allow cyclists to ride past the White House, across the Key Bridge, and into Arlington.  And of course I tracked my path with my iPhone.  There were thick clouds overhead so the path didn’t come out very well, but when I hit the highway suddenly I was polling data points every few seconds.  I would guess this is because there were no buildings around.

DC Tracker is Temparily Free, Shows Live Metro Schedule

simon | Review, Software | Monday, September 21st, 2009

I’ve compared the features of all the DC metro apps, and each has it’s pros and cons. This one gets a bonus for being free while also not sucking. It show you real time arrival times for the DC Metrorail and Metrobus. It’s temporarily free down from a dollar.

I saw a bunch of animals at the zoo, I even got to see an octopus fight a shrimp on a pole.

This morning I took a stroll around the reflecting pool.  I have a nice map of my journey because all photos shot with an iPhone 3G are geotagged.

I had to lay down on the sidewalk to get the sun to bloom through the tree without cutting off the top of the Washington Monument.
